Myton Bridge Closure Westbound traffic congestion-easy resolution

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 09:36, Tue 27 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4720624.

When A63 Myton Bridge is closed, can orange covers be placed over the red lights on the northbound side of the gyratory? The A63 road is closed and they unnecessarily are stopping traffic from crossing it. That way traffic can flow (almost) without stopping up to Great Union Street or back up the A63.

Updates

  • Thank you for your email of 27 June 2023 about covering the traffic lights on the northbound side if the gyratory. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us about the issue and for making your suggestion.

Your suggestion has been passed on to the project manager who has added it to lessons learned and we can confirm it'll be used to improve the Traffic Management in subsequent weekend closures. This should enable traffic to flow better at the junction with Great Union Street.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind Regards
