Incorrect road markings

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 21:17, Sun 25 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4714719.

Incorrect road marking on off-slip from M25 Jct 28 North. Four lanes on approach to roundabout. Lane 1 A12W, Lane 2-3 A12E and Lane 4 A1023. In my example today I had a near miss due to confusion: I used lane 2 from the slip to access A12E however upon entering the roundabout I found the lane I was following was now to exit for the M25N. When viewing from Google Maps it is clear two lanes on the slip are signed for A12E yet only one lane on the roundabout is for A12E meaning one lane from the slip has no proper route or is expected to merge mid-way. Whilst following the correct lanes I had to make an unexpected lane change or face rejoining the M25 unnecessarily. I wanted to highlight this because I had not used this junction on the M25 before and it was a stressful incident and I can see how easily this could become an accident spot when more people find themselves in the wrong lane or unknowingly push into the wrong lane without realising the mistake.
