Laybuy being constantly used and over crowded by airport traffic

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 18:07, Sun 25 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4714269.

Good afternoon, I live in the local area and regularly use this road to travel home. Unfortunately since the airport has began to be more popular again post the covid pandemic the laybuy on this road is regularly being occupied by cars whom are accessing the airport. The laybuy is often overcrowded which means cars are encroaching onto the motorway causing a hazard. More worryingly I have experienced two incidents where cars have pulled out infront of me without showing any due care or attention. This resulted in needing to pull across to the other lane in a very fast manner to prevent a collision. I do believe if it hadnt been for my alertness in moving out of the way a crash would have occurred on both occasions. In the past 12 months the laybuy has become more congested, and I imagine the amount of cars using it will only keep increasing. This naturally concerns me, I'm increasingly worried an incident like someone pulling out may happen when it's dark or weather conditions are bad which would mean less time to react. I would appreciate you looking into this matter urgently and consider closing the laybuy to prevent any fatal collisions. Kind regards
