Bridge join dropped

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 22:49, Thu 22 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4706469.

The road over the bridge approaching bar hill from Longstanton has dropped either side causing what is now a dangerous kerb that stretches along the width of the road. It’s no good having a sign there that says ramp, it’s not a ramp it’s a kerb!! Please sort this I can only imagine the damage that is being caused to multiple vehicles.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting our Customer Contact Centre about the surface on the bridges at Bar Hill, A14. We’re aware of the uneven section which is due to the settlement within the structure itself.

Our highway inspectors regularly monitor the area and will continue to do so on a routine basis. If they find at any time, we need to carry out urgent repairs following an inspection, we will ensure the necessary work is carried out until the settlement slows down.

Thank you again for contacting us. If you need more information about this, please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or by email at info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
