Massive pothole on the inside lane

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4693549.

I have just driven on this road and hit an extremely large pothole on the inside lane on the a46 before Leek Wootton travelling south. It would appear at least 5 other cars did the same and suffered flat tyres as they were all pulled up on the hard shoulder beyond the junction.

  • Yes I came past at this time and avoided it but lots of cars were laid up on side of the road with tyre damage.

  • My name is Helen Groves (helengroves58@gmail.com). I also encountered this pot hole at 09.58 this morning. There was an almighty bang and the tyre pressure warning message appeared on my dashboard. I managed to get to a lay-by nearby and the tyre was flat. I was recovered by the AA around 11am who confirmed the tyre was beyond repair due to a gouge in the outer wall. My car is currently being repaired at a local tyre garage in Warwick. The AA man advised having the tracking checked as well as the force of hitting the pothole might have put the tracking out. Whilst I was awaiting the AA another 12 vehicles hit the pothole as well. I informed the Police because this was very unsafe and could cause an accident. The inside lane of the A46 was closed by the time I left the site at 11.30am.
