Safety Gate on canal protecting M5 not working

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4688864.

There are two safety gates, one to the East and one to the West, of the M5 underpass and the West gate is inoperable. This was found out at a recent dive survey. These are the Highways infrastructure protecting the M5 and therefore I would like to discuss works to bring them back into operation.
