Difficulty in assessing a clear exit from Hockering onto the A47

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 12:23, Sat 17 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4683811.

The grass at this junction has grown to such a height that it’s now posing a danger for vehicles to see what’s coming up towards the junction for drivers wanting to turn right to Dereham. I’m a Cllr on the Hockering Parish Council and have been approached by residents concerned about this issue.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting our Customer Contact Centre about the grass on the A47 in assessing a clear exit from Hockering onto the A47. I appreciate you taking the time to report this. We carry out regular inspections of our roads and cut back trees and vegetation where we find that it’s limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals, at junctions or the view ahead. I’ve passed your observations to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area and if necessary, arrange for the hedges to be cut. Kind regards National Highways
