As you leave the M59 from Ross direction and drive up to the junction with the Ledbury Road, and wish to turn towards Gloucester you can’t see what is coming towards you over the over motorway bridge due to high grass and vegetation. Today there was a cyclist there and I could not see him. Really scary moment. Vegetation and grass needs to be kept short at junctions, it’s is a health and safety issue.

Reported via iOS in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category by Gwyneth Gill at 13:26, Fri 16 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4680896.

Health and Safety issue. Grass on junctions need to be kept short for visibility reasons. Now as you exit the M50 onto the Ledbury Gloucester Road you have no chance of seeing vehicles coming over the over motor way bridge. Really dangerous.

  • Yesterday (24th Aug 2023) there was a terrible accident by Junction 2 which I think might have been caused by someone coming onto the M50 by the wrong Slip Road. Whilst I did not witness the accident happen I thought I would get in touch because (later in the day) when I left the M50 at Junction 2 to access the A417 and turn for Ledbury a car was also trying to come down the slip road towards me. I think several things are going on. Firstly the A417 has been resurfaced and secondly drivers using satnavs might be being confused when it tells them to turn right too early, they need to cross the bridge first. Also, I cannot recall if there are No Entry signs at this point but a few years ago my wife and I had to beep our horn madly at someone who was trying to drive down the exit slip road With such a terrible accident on my mind (I did see the cars on my way out in the morning) I felt I had to do something to try to prevent a similar thing happening. My experience of meeting a car coming towards me as I exited the M50 on my way home confirmed that I should do something.
