Neighbours have cut down significant tree branches on the floodbank next to their property on Rowan drive silverdale.

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 10:41, Wed 14 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4671068.

This bank of trees forms a noise barrier to silverdale from the A52. These neighbours employed their own tree surgeons to cut down significant broad leaf tree branches on one side of the 100ft plus trees. This has left all lower noise prevention branches missing and only the upper canopy of the trees remain. Noise has increased significantly with the missing branches and traffic can now be seen thundering by. I am aware that trees need to be cut evenly or it can undermine the balance of the trees. I asked he neighbour if they had permission to cut these trees and they said yes but provided no evidence. I feel the trees should be checked for stability as they could pose a danger to the A52 if undermined.
