Increase in Sunningwell of road noise from A34

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 14:38, Mon 12 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4661711.

As clerk to Sunningwell Parish Council I have been approached by a parishioner saying that the noise level from traffic on the A34 has reached an almost unbearable level since noise barriers were installed near new housing on the far side of the A34 in North Abingdon. It seems the barriers whilst protecting the new houses, are deflecting the noise towards Sunningwell. I should be grateful for your comments and advice. With kind regards, Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer of Sunningwell Parish Council.
