Tree on the left side of 23 Willow Tree Close

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 13:50, Mon 12 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4661430.

There is a very large tree on the left side of my property and it has been causing issues to our driveway and cars. The leaves and petals that fall from the tree leave a distinctive mark on our cars and my husband runs a taxi business. This means that he has to regularly clean the outside of the cars and we cannot afford to keep doing that. Furthermore, it doesn’t look appealing to our property.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning vegetation.

I’m sorry to hear about the overhanging tree and the impact that leaf fall is having on your vehicles. We have a wide network of trees to manage across the south of England and therefore with a limited budget we are required to concentrate our efforts on customer safety and tree health. Trees blocking sunlight, leaf fall, seeding or bird droppings are not included within these requirements.

As this currently isn’t a safety concern, maintenance work isn’t required at this time. However, should you choose to reduce any vegetation intruding onto your property, then legally you are entitled to reduce this vegetation without requiring permission.

If you require any further update on this issue, our Customer Contact Centre is available 24 hours a day at:
