Traffic lights causing significant delays

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 23:06, Thu 8 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4649271.

The traffic travelling West to East is significantly impacted by the traffic lights at Coombes Road. Given these are traffic lights to service very little local traffic and Lancing College they are causing significant queues along the A27. The situation will only get worse once new traffic island opened. Will these lights be replaced under new works.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning the traffic lights at Coombes Road.

We're aware of issues with the detector loops, however the lights are to removed very soon under the third party works development scheme in the area whereby they are building a new roundabout on the A27 east of Lancing to give access to the New Monks Farm development and provide better links to Brighton City Airport.

You can keep update with this at https://nationalhighways.co.uk/ our-roads/ south-east/ a27-lancing-manor-farm/

    Kind regards
