Overgrown hedge obscuring pavement

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 12:16, Wed 7 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4642495.

In Westminster Way, between 148 Westminster Way and Yarnells Hill, Botley, there is an area of hedging and overgrown verge that is continually obscuring the pavement area. It needs cutting back to allow clearer passage along the pavement, which is also uneven and fills with water and mud after periods of rain. This is a perennial problem that needs resolution. Consideration needs to be given to regular users of this pavement, including parents with pushchairs/prams and those in wheelchairs.

I have checked the Land Registry and it appear that National Highways is responsible for this section of verge (service strip).

The respective owners of 3 Crozier Close and Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Yarnells Hill, have also been sent a letter by Oxfordshire County Council, asking them to cut back their trees and any of their vegetation, that is overgrowing and obstructing this section of Westminster Way footway, within 28 days of receipt.
