Wrotham rd wrong lane markings

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 14:36, Tue 6 June 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4638854.

Wrotham road approaching the roundabout heading into Gravesend. There has been an alteration on the lane marking for the 2 lanes heading towards the roundabout. The left hand lane has been changed to left turn only and the right lane is straight on and right turn only. Would it have not made more senses to make the right hand lane right turn only and the left lane straight on and left turn? The raised road sign still says straight on as per the Highway Code, and also the road markings only change at the very last minute, causing cars to swerve at the last minute or just think oh well and go straight on. The road markings leading up to roundabout say straight on in both lanes, I don’t think much thought has been given to these road markings, and not enough clear instruction. I spoke to Gravesend council and they said they didn’t do the work and that I should get in touch with you
