Prolonged roadworks & lack of comms

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4638647.

There is no indication of why these roadworks are in place and how long they are scheduled to last. They cause delays and increased pollution.

These comments are not new, but the culprit (Thames Water) has done nothing to resolve them in the 14+ days the works have been in place, and people have been complaining to national highways.

  • Thank you for your report concerning roadworks on the A404. We’ve passed on your feedback to our Operations Manager who is currently working with Thames Water to find an alternative solution for their requirements. This is however proving difficult due to the size of the roads below the A404 hampering tanker movements. Please be assured that this matter is being prioritised and we are working with Themes Water to find a solution.
