Hello,
Another update on the A5 footpath/cyclepath…. the weeds and shrubbery are continue to grow over the path, pushing pedestrians and cyclists even closer to the road. In parts, the trees have grown over the path and you have to duck to get past, very dangerous for anyone on a bike.
I believe there was someone going out to assess the situation but other than mowing the path (and if you’re having to mow the path, surely this confirms how big a problem it is) nothing has been done. The overgrown verges need digging off the paths and pushed back to the original boundary.
Obviously with the complete lack of attention to this issue, you’d think I’d give up but unfortunately I can’t. My children have to walk along that path to get to school, I have to watch as my children are pushed ever closer to the road as lorries are rushing past them. Please do something about the path/cyclepath. I don’t want my children’s choice to be walking through nettles or walking closer to 40min traffic.
I will be speaking with my local MP to see if they can help in any way too.
Thanks

Thank you for your report concerning overgrown verge.
Our inspectors checked the area on 16 June. A repair is planned to cut back the trees, we currently don't have a date for these works but they will be as soon as possible.
Kind regards
