We have noticed an increase in the amount of road noise this summer. We think it could be due to the trees dying. They were closely packed and after 23 years seem to have given up the fight. Can somebody please measure the road noise at the rear of our property and see if it within recommended guidelines. Thanks
Noise on our network is driven by the requirements of the Environmental Noise (England) Regulations 2006. Noise is measured by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) who create noise maps every 5 years. We'd recommend contacting Defra directly regarding the noise level near your property. You'll find contact details for Defra at https://www.gov.uk/ guidance/ contact-defra.
Kind regards National Highways
