Confusing road markings

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 00:42, Wed 31 May 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4613098.

The road markings need repainted as I’ve nearly had a crash yesterday with a black car cutting from the inside right lane on the lobley hill roundabout to the left causing me to change my speed and position. The left lane is for going straight ahead up lobley hill bank whilst the right lane is for the A184 and A1.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the road markings at the J68 Lobley Hill Interchange roundabout. This is not a National Highways asset, but the responsibility of Gateshead MB Council.

National Highways manage motorways and certain ‘A’ road trunks roads in England, all other roads are the responsibility local authorities. Contact details for local authorities can be found by using the search facility at: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-council.

    Kind regards,

    National Highways

State changed to: not the council's responsibility
