Road markings still confusing motorists
Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 20:09, Sat 27 May 2023
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4603515.
Today whilst on the A227 I was travelling from Meopham to Gravesend. Two cars came off the slip road and did not stop or Give Way in order to join traffic - I very nearly had an accident. Please could this be made clearer in some way? I think the drivers on the slip road think it's their designated lane rather than a Give Way. This is not the first time but was a close shave! Thank you.

Hi,
I agree with the above statement. I myself have had to brake whilst using the roundabout as some of the traffic coming off the A2 slip road assumes it is a designated lane for them to continue rather than stopping. The white line markings are set far back which I think is causing confusion at this roundabout.
I have spoken to Highways @ KCC but have been directed to National Highways.
Thanks

Thank you for your report concerning an incident of poor driver behaviour.
At this time we consider that that Give Way road markings and the hard standing signage is sufficient and we wont be making any changes to the road layout.
Kind regards
