Prolonged roadworks
Reported via mobile in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 10:24, Sat 27 May 2023
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4602153.
Why are they no signs from Thames water indicating how long their works are going to go on. 2 weeks of chaos on the A404 - and no comms at all

This is crazy. National Highways just close these tickets and refer you to Thames Water. National Highways are responsible for maintaining traffic flow, not the water company. Basically a response of 'not my problem mate, go complain to someone else' ...

After further investigation It looks like these roadworks will last for the next two months - although this is mostly speculation. These roadworks are causing chaos and huge tailbacks. Unfortunately, there is zero information being provided by thames water with regard to how long these disruptions will last. Can highways push thames water to be a bit more transparent as to what is happening please? Don’t just pretend it’s not your problem and respond with thames waters email address.

How much is Thames water paying for the road closure? it’s a private company who has failed to spend its profits on the infrastructure. Hit them in the pocket and they’ll soon have crews working 24hrs to fix it.
