M42 Roadworks Where hardshoulder becomes an active lane

M42 50mph area before roadworks. Where the live traffic is moved over and hard shoulder becomes active, The old road markings shine quite brightly in the sun and alot of people are following these road markings and not moving over a lane as per the new / temporary road markings. I've seen several near collisions because some people follow the new markings and some people are following the old markings and they are meeting in the middle.
