When approaching the roundabout off the M3 sliproad coming from London, for some unknown reason, someone designed the road so the left hand lane of two (when you drive off the motorway), JUST goes left towards A331N/M3 and the right lane splits into 3 lanes just before the roundabout covering traffic heading towards A331S/Farnborough/Frimley/Aldershot etc.
I drive this road daily and it would make far more sense if the left lane split into two before the roundabout, one lane for A331N/M3 and the other for Frimley/Farnborough. Then the right hand lane could also split into two lanes covering just the A331S towards Aldershot.
This would avoid so many near misses as, when you drive off the M3, there are NO road markings showing which lane to be in until just before the roundabout, at which point, many people try to pull into the right lane from the left. It would also stop the tailbacks up the M3 slip road as the traffic would be more evenly distributed between the two lanes, rather than the majority needing the right lane. It would also stop the very close near misses I see as motorists try to avoid the queue in the right lane by driving all the way down the left lane and then trying to push in to the right lane at the last minute.

Thank you for contacting us we welcome customer feedback.
I've passed this on to our pavement team to look into. We don't have any resurfacing plans in this area at this time, and it is not currently an accident hotspot. So this may take some time to look into.
I have in addition passed this to the local council who look after the A321 that is also affected by any changes we could consider.
Diver behaviour and queue jumping is a problem, unfortunately, we are not an enforcement agency and this would have to be reported to the police.
Thank you again for providing us with your thoughts and also the photos of the area
