Road surface is in atrocious condition

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4577736.

The road surface is in apocalyptically bad condition with numerous large potholes and enormous cracks where the concrete slabs have separated.

This will cause damage to the tyres/suspension of a car if it hasn't already, and will be extremely dangerous for motorcycle riders. This issue was present when I drove the road for the first time in May 2022, and is still an issue as of May 2023.

This should be fixed as soon as possible for the safety of all road users - in particular motorcyclists who might experience a horrible as a result of this road.

  • Thank you for your report concerning road surfacing issues on the M271.

    We're aware of problems with the condition of the concrete surface in this area, and we are planning a concrete repair scheme to resurface this section of road and resolve the issue before next Spring. We don't currently have a schedule for these works.
