Incorrect road markings

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 09:46, Tue 9 May 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4530680.

Hi I would like to bring to your attention what in my opinion are incorrect road markings The markings in question are the direction arrows on the A627M approaching the roundabout over the M62 at junction 20 Traveling from oldham in the direction of rochdale approaching the roundabout the left hand/nearside lane-to go onto the M62 towards Liverpool the arrow is pointing straight on instead of left only Myself going straight on over the roundabout I use the middle lane off The A627 and go over to the left lane on the roundabout Just recently I have had several near misses where vehicles are using the nearside lane off the A627 to go straight ahead and using the excuse that the arrow depicts this is ok for them to do I think this is a matter of urgency to correct this before someone is seriously injured Thank you

  • Thank you for your report concerning road markings on the approach to M60 junction 20 from the A627M. There are 3 sets of arrows on the approach to the roundabout. Left Lane = Turn Left onto M62 toward Liverpool Middle lane = Turn left or Continue Straight towards Rochdale Right Lane = Straight ahead ONLY The issue you describe appears to be poor driver behaviour as motorists incorrectly use the left hand approach lane to gain an advantage on the roundabout.
