Degrading concrete M6 bridge which crosses Trent & Mersey Canal

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 16:21, Wed 3 May 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4513586.

Hi, I am an Engineer who works for the Canal & River Trust. It was picked up on one of our Asset Inspections that the concrete is delaminating on the soffit of the M6 bridge which crosses the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal near Penkridge.

Our boating customers are concerned that debris might drop off and hit boaters as they are passing under the bridge.

I would be grateful if you could arrange one of your inspectors to carry out an inspection?
