  • I’m sorry to hear about littering along the M2. Please be assured that litter is a serious issue, and we share your concern about the amount of rubbish that is discarded on our roads.

Following our inspector’s recommendations recently, we’ve instructed our maintenance partners to arrange litter picks on the M2, starting on the eastbound carriageway. In addition to litter picking, they will undertake grass cutting and gully clearance.

Work to clear the litter on the M2 is ongoing, subject to suitable traffic management approval, to provide a safe working environment for the crews. Once the eastbound verges and slips have been picked, we will turn our attention westbound.
