Conflictings signs and traffic management

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 11:42, Wed 26 April 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4487936.

The overhead gantry sign, heading south, north of Cut Throat Lane indicates the M40 slip as the two inside lanes and the two outer being the M42. However at the beginning of the slip another TM sign indicates the inner lane is coned off and skewed into the space of lane two. This means the existing lane two is skewed into what was lane three, which is the lane for the M42 not the M40. Traffic that was in lane two for the slip are now on the M42 and having to 'dive into' the M40 slip at the last moment. This produces many 'cut ins' as drivers are being directed in the wrong direction.
