Temporary traffic lights

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category by James Smith at 08:50, Mon 17 April 2023

Good morning, As you will know there have been temporary traffic lights at the Lyons Farm junctions. All of the enhancements for vehicles (including resurfacing) and pedestrians (raised crossovers) were completed months ago and whilst those on the east side of the junction were removed several weeks ago, those at the west side (at the top of Sompting Road) are still in place despite the new traffic lights being installed months ago which are still covered with orange hoods. The whole project has now been going on for at least two years so please can you let me know when the replacement lights will actually be working? Whilst mailing there are several lamps that haven't been working between these junctions for several years. When I met up with an engineer prior to Covid he told me residents complained about them so they had been turned off! I find this hard to believe as it's a busy junction and the lights are there for safety, not the whims of residents (they chose to live on a trunk road!). Perhaps this could be looked at too? I should mention that I am Secretary of the South Broadwater Residents' Association and members have complained about these matters so I'd appreciate clarification please. Thank you.
