Incredible Dangerous Pothole nr J5 Westbound M4
Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 22:13, Fri 14 April 2023
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4441378.
We just hit a pothole approximately 6-10 inches deep, size of a dustbin lid on the M4 westbound near Langley. It’s clear this has been reported several times and allegedly ‘repaired,’ however it absolutely has not. It’s extremely dangerous, particularly in these horrendous driving conditions (hammering down with rain in the dark), unable to swerve etc. I fear an accident is on the horizon if this isn’t fixed properly.

I also hit a pothole this evening at around 21:30 in this area. I was travelling westbound lane 2 when there was an almighty bang on my left front wheel. This scared the daylights out of me. I have not checked my tyres or alloy wheels as it is dark but will do so in the morning. In all my years travelling on motorways I have never experienced this before. It needs to be fixed or IT WILL CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

This happened to me, too, at 21:30. Several cars were pulling on to the hard shoulder to check their vehicles. Thank goodness there was a hard shoulder! My collision with this pothole was incredibly violent. My car managed to limp home but the steering is definitely damaged. How do I make a claim for its repair?
