Road Works Speed Limit Signs Left Uncovered

There are roadworks speed limit signs of 50mph left uncovered at the side of the motorway on the approach to junction 3 of the M3. Traffic is slowing down unnecessarily. They were also there yesterday.

  • Thank you for your report concerning speed limits on the M3. The temporary current speed limit of 50mph on the M3 has been in place whilst we undertake overnight technology works in the area. To ensure the safety of road users, we kept the signage and speed in place 24/7 to provide consistency to the flow of traffic whilst these works have been undertaken. We acknowledge that we should have put some signage up to advise of what works were taking place and for this we apologise. I’m pleased to advise that the works are now complete, and the 50mph speed limit signs have been removed.
