Intermittent Lights Howdon Interchange

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4428766.

I work for North Tyneside Council. I've been contacted by a resident via a Councillor to advise that the traffic lights on the Howdon Interchange roundabout over the A19 are part time/don't work and haven't been working effectively for months. Resident says that the traffic backs up onto the slip road leading to the roundabout (A193) and nothing can get out. This morning the resident emailed again to advise that the lights have been on this week at 9am when there is little traffic but not on between 4/5pm when the traffic is built up and at its worst. Please can this be looked at asap as the resident has been chasing this for quite some time but been passed from pillar to post. I've only just today been advised this is the responsibility of national highways. Thanks for your help.

    An engineer has attended the location to investigate the traffic lights on the 14th April, and confirmed the lights are part time signals only which run between the times of 7:45AM to 9:45AM. No faults were detected.
