Thank you for your report concerning the delay at the traffic lights on the Woodhead pass.
We have investigated the issue and found that some time overnight the signal batteries had gone flat resulting in the lights defaulting to ‘all red’. Once we were aware of the issue our operatives provided Stop & Go traffic control until this issue was resolved by the arrival of the planned dayshift with replacement batteries.
We can only apologise for the delay you have experienced.
