No junction sign on approach to M55 junction 1 East bound

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 15:20, Mon 3 April 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4393501.

There is no junction sign showing the road layout for the junction roundabout. Overhead gantry provides no assistance as to which lane to use. The lane markings show A6 (without any accompanying compass direction) in both lanes and B6241 on the left lane. The B6241 is Eastway and is therefore is indicating a right turn is permitted/advised for travelling A6 south and then left onto the B6241. However there is no advanced indication by way of junction signage to advise the relevance of the road markings. Combined with right turn arrows approaching a junction this deficiency routinely causes conflict. Even when taking the near side lane and indicating right, vehicles in the right lane regularly cut across one’s path. While a similar notification had been made about a lane marking actually on the roundabout make no mistake the problem here is the inadequate signage you are responsible for namely the lane markings, gantry and advanced junction board.
