Hedge & tree encroachment onto road thus forcing one to drive towards mid carriageway.

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 13:39, Sat 1 April 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4385524.

The stretch of road between what 3 words 'habit.hobble.beginning' and 'huddled.butlers.golf' is strewn with overgrown tress, hedge and vegetation. The curbs can barely be seen and both sides of the road are effected. It is so overgrown that one is nudged towards the centre of the road. There is an are of hedge protruding out into the road around the point one crosses over the 'Black Brook' when travelling in Stratford St Mary direction. I consider the whole area to be hazardous and requires attention to cut back the protruding tress and hedge, removal of debris on both sides so one is not pushed into the center of the road. I suggest this matter is urgent and is currently a danger to road users.

Thank you

Updates

  • Thank you for informing our Customer Contact Centre about overgrown vegetation on the Stratford St Mary exit from the A12. I appreciate you taking the time to report this.

We carry out regular inspections of our roads and cut back trees and vegetation where we find that it’s limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals, at junctions or the view ahead. I’ve passed your observations to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area and if necessary, arrange for vegetation to be cut.

Thank you again for contacting us.

    Kind regards
