Hi there

It looks like trees have been felled along this stretch for no reason and it’s bird nesting season!

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning trees.

The trees were removed due to safety reasons as they had Class 3 Ash Die Back with 51% to 75% Crown Loss. We were unable to access this area prior to bird nesting due to an ongoing resurfacing scheme and a clash in the traffic management requirements on both the A30 and the adjacent local authority road.

The works were undertaken by a competent contractor with a watching brief for nesting birds and other species.

If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
