Traffic light sequence issue

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 09:00, Fri 31 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4380178.

This issue has already been reported and you have closed the issue. However, whilst this remains unresolved, I believe the report should be left open.

Since it was initially reported (by multiple people), I have been witness to number of near misses on the southbound approach to the junction as the result of traffic slowing and stopping in lane 1 in an attempt to join the queue (which has formed as a result of this issue) at the last minute.

Until the lights are changed, it's only a matter of time before there is a serious accident - I would hope that somebody at the relevant authority is held accountable in the event that this happens, as this has been raised as a safety concern by a number of people.
