Restricted speed limit signs

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 19:15, Wed 29 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4374274.

It looks like there are several speed limit signs that have been left in place after the completion of road works, there is a 40mph, a 30mph and return to national speed limit plus other signs. In both directions on the Wimborne to Merley stretch. They have been there for several weeks now, no road works appear to be ongoing. There is a danger of accidents as some motorists brake when they get to the signs. Could you please look into this.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning restricted speed limit signs on the A31.

This speed limit is in place as we're replacing a barrier along this length of the road, and it will be removed when the barrier has been safely reinstated. This work should be completed by 21 April.
