Excessive litter

Reported via mobile in the Litter (NH) category anonymously at 19:22, Mon 27 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4365868.

From the whiteley junction until the A27 junction, the banks and the middle divider of the M275, are covered with all sorts of litter. It is absolutely disgusting, there's so much that looks like a gigantic tip. Please maintain it and clean it, the damage to the environment is evident. Thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning litter on the M27 and M275.

I can advise that our inspector has arranged for at least three litter pick operations at the J, L, and M links of the M275 and adjoining M27 junction, to be completed within 28 days. Additionally, we have two picks scheduled for Junction 11 of the M27 for the Westbound carriageway between marker posts 39/7 and 39/0, and for the off slip, to be completed by 1 May and 19 May respectively.

We're constantly conducting litter picks on our motorways and have a large number of planned picks across the network. We hope you can appreciate this work and we thank you for your patience whilst we take action against the ongoing and demanding problem with litter on our network.
