No longer a safe filter lane through M42 interchange

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 13:37, Mon 27 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4364049.

Before changing to narrow lane running the inside lane would continue left as a single lane to continue on the M42. The middle lane would then have the option to filter into a second lane slightly further along or continue on the M40. Now (since narrow lane running) the inside lane becomes two lanes and many drivers take the outer lane preventing vehicles in the middle lane from being able to take the exit left northbound on the M42. The signage leading up to this junction still indicates that there are two lanes for filtering. It would not take much to amend this junction and return it to providing good traffic flow (even with narrow lanes) and implement the second filter lanes so that vehicles on the inside lane got there own lane and vehicles in the middle lane can also filter safely.
