On Saturday 25th March I was travelling north coming off the M40 to join the M42. I then left the M42 at Junction 9. The speed limit coming off the M40 and onto the M42 was 50mph. This continued for a few miles as the M42 was restricted to 2 lanes. Thereafter there was a contradiction in signage. The physical signs at the side of the road displayed 50mph but the gantry overhead was lit with the national speed limit. This was just confusing and other drivers around me were also confused. Please can you ensure that this is rectified as it was not clear what the instruction to drivers was.
