Missing sign to report diversion due to A46 south closed overnight

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 16:01, Fri 24 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4355046.

For drivers going south on the A46 there is no sign to state they need to take exit 3 for diversion for roadworks overnight that have closed the A46 south at Salford Priors.

Therefore all south traffic proceeds 5 miles down the A46 to then get a sign to say turnaround and go 5 miles back north on the A46.

Instead all traffic decides to go via Salford priors and Norton, meaning small villages with period properties have huge disruption overnight , with lack of sleep and damage to property from physically being shaken by the size of lorries.
