Pothole A1m between Jct 9&10

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4346144.

There is a very large, deep but narrow pothole going with traffic flow in the centre on the carriageway going southbound from baldock jct10 to Letchworth jct9 on the A1(m). I would estimate it as a car length and easily big enough to seriously hurt a motorcyclist if unseen eg at night. I believe it is near the 1 mile marker for Letchworth. It is definitely after the bridges and in line with the lane markings between both lanes.

I’ve passed your observations to our maintenance team for further investigation. Potholes can be hazardous and we have processes in place to ensure they are made safe quickly. We carry out frequent safety patrols to monitor the condition of the road. Any potholes or defects we find are recorded. Repairs are then prioritised based on the severity of the defect.
