Blocked drains on the west bound carriageway at the bus stops and approaches to roundabouts at Marfleet junction, King George Dock junction and Southcoates/Hull Prison junction/roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 08:25, Thu 16 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4319079.

The drainage channels to the side of the road and bus stops are all blocked causing ponding up to the full width of the nearside lane on the west bound carriageway with blocked channels so bad that there is vegetation growing out of the drainage channels. The only maintenance that takes place is an occasional scarab type road sweeper which does absolutely nothing as the channels below the kerbing along with the holes on the kerbing are completely blocked. This is the full length from saltend roundabout to southcoates lane roundabout, with particularly bad areas on the approach to each roundabout and at every bus stop. Every time it rains more than a shower the inside lane floods. It needs a thorough and detailed clearance via jetting of all the road side drainage holes to the kerbs, bus stops and below kerb channels. It simply does not get done and is dangerous at times with cars having to go through deep water or swerve out to lane 2 to avoid.
