Rebar exposed beneath pothole

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 15:29, Wed 15 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4317077.

Lancashire County Council are planning to resurface the bridge surfacing on A5209 as early as next week due to the deterioration of the surfacing. One of our inspectors has identified some rebar exposed on the bridge deck in one of the potholes. As the bridge is owned and maintained by National Highways (but LCC are responsible for the surfacing) we wanted to give you the opportunity to inspect and undertake any repairs to the deck or bridge deck waterproofing prior to us undertaking any surfacing works.

Updates

  • Where the rebar was exposed has had a ‘lump’ of tarmac put over it, but the whole road surface is deplorable and dangerous to vehicles
