Footbridge over A23 needs maintenance

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4315981.

1. The footbridge is very mossy under foot on the ramps, dangerous and unsightly. 2. The handrails (and all of the metal) is filthy and looks horrible, but more importantly isn’t something anyone would want to hold onto without getting very dirty. Not helpful for elderly or disabled people 3. There is a lot of graffiti on the east side of the bridge lower area (concrete walls)

  • Thank you for your report concerning the condition of the footbridge.

    Our inspector visited the location and agrees that work is required to clean the handrails, clear the moss from the ramps and remove the non offensive graffiti. A request has been raised for the works, however as they are non safety critical they will be covered within planned routine maintenance.
