M42 junction 5

On approach to junction 5 on m42 north on 11/3/23.the sign said use hard shoulder only for junction 6 so I selected to drive on the hard shoulder for junction 6 which took me off at junction 5, so I had to rejoin m42 for junction 6 which then the hard shoulder was not in use.I shoulder not be fine for using hard so as the sign was misleading.I'm careful driver with no accidents in 40 years,this was not my fault.the sign was faulty.Adam Lewis.[phone removed]
