No signs about planned road closure

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 16:28, Sat 11 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4301846.

I would like to complain about lack of signs or advertisement about the road closure on the A27 between Shoreham and Lancing this weekend (11th March). I joined the A27 at Portslade going only 1 junction to Shoreham. However I hit a queue at the junction on from Tesco/Holmbush and queued for 1 hour 20 minutes to where the A27 suddenly closed at the cloverleaf at Shoreham. There were no signs at all along the A27 to say about this closure (until the two outside lane closure sign) and I only knew what was going on once in the single lane off to Shoreham where the sign was. This is way too late and should be signposted at every junction onto the A27 as I could have avoided the A27 all together. As it was I missed an appointment by over an hour when the journey takes me 15 minutes. Please can you advertise or put signage along the A27 to make it clear about a significant road closure which makes a huge difference to travel times. Thanks
