Roadwork barriers blocking the right hand lane along the A5 from M42 junction island up to the M6 toll road entrance.

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 16:49, Mon 6 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4287309.

I’m writing to discuss the roadworks along the centre of the A5. I’ve noticed more and more of the wild animals in the area are being run over due to not being able to get through the barriers. I do believe that improving the highways in an area that has a high population is necessary and beneficial, but I also think there are ways this can be done whilst maintaining the welfare of the environment. I was wondering if it’d be possible to include gaps within the barrier, just a few meters apart just to ensure the animals have a space to cross the road. Thank you.
