Severe unavoidable pothole in the inside lane before J7 Southbound

Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 20:25, Sun 5 March 2023

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4284646.

There is a severe deep pothole on the right hand side of the inside lane between J7a and J7 Southbound. The pothole has been outlined in red spray paint, so clearly must have been inspected previously, but if there are vehicles alongside in the middle lane the pothole is unavoidable. The impact at 70mph was akin to hitting a curb, splitting the sidewall of my front right tyre. Were it not for the fact I have run flats this could have caused a catastrophic blowout and very likely a collision. If not repaired promptly it will doubtless cause damage to more drivers but worse cause an accident that results in injury.
