Pothole southbound M6 junction 16 lane 2

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4284100.

I was travelling South through this junction on Sat4th March 2023 around 14:20 when my Right had wheels hit what must have been a deep pothole. Loud bang a severe jolt to my steering. I believe it my have been at the exit to the second bridge. I believe my suspension is now damaged but need to book into a garage to confirm

    Today I was driving in this lane at the point where the speed limit changes from 50mph limit to 70mph. I hit a deep pothole causing a huge bang and immediate rumbling of the steering wheel and an alert saying the driver side front wheel is affected and to contact bmw roadside assistance on my dashboard. The tyre is popped and I have now had the car taken to BMW to assess any other damage

  • Just to let you know, that I was travelling on the M6 yesterday in lane 1 and my front offside tyre hit a very deep pothole. This was near to the junction 26 (M58 ). Needs attention as it is where the narrow lanes are in the roadworks. I haven't had my car checked out yet but it may have caused damage to the alloy wheel or suspension. Mechanic coming on Thursday to check something else so will ask him to check.

  • M6 southbound before Tebay services at 10 pm in the middle lane. There is a hole/pothole that can’t be seen in the headlights and has resulted in wheel bearing failure and my vehicle is now undrivable. This will require extensive repairs and has extensive downtime with me now not able to go to work on Monday morning at 7:30. Still waiting to be relayed at 5:45. Kind regards, Frank White

  • Driving southbound on M6 I think just as you get to the welcome to Staffordshire sign.. massive pothole on the middle lane.. are we in the third world.. suspension light is flashing so I've got a big bill for badly maintained roads
